Community Overview

Alexandria has a wide variety of restaurants, retail stores and fun activities that are available year round.  During summertime, boating and fishing are primary with all of the wonderful lakes we have to enjoy.  The winter months can be long but with skiing at a local ski resort and snowmobiling and fishing, time flies past. 

The school system in Alexandria has many options from pre-school to college.  District 206  includes  several elementary schools, a middle school and new high school.  Also, several alternative schools are in our area reaching out and helping students acheive their education with various methods.  The Alexandria Technical College has had fabulous placement and success for those entering the work force with the education that is provided as well.

The Chamber of Commerce is very active and provides activities year round for people living in or visiting our community.
